Oh my god

Wow, fuck you, Dominos.

fuck

When will people stop pretending that the animals killed for them were happy and healthy like the animals on milk cartons and cheese packages? -_-

I KNOW I JUST SAW THIS YESTERDAY ITS FUCKED UP

But isn’t it about the CHEESE which does NOT require killing the animals? Isn’t that what the box is thanking them for?

^

Cows farmed for their milk have to be impregnated each year to produce milk. The male calves are the babies killed for veal. When the cows who have undergone a constant cycle of forced pregnancy, birth and forced separation from calf, and milking are just five years old, they are killed. They could live another two decades. All “dairy cows” are eventually killed for meat, as are their calves. Until then, they lead a life of suffering and anguish and do not willingly “give their milk to humans in the name of cheese.”

not a vegan, but dominos made a shit marketing move

*eyes roll so hard that I die*This is tumblr for you. Dominos just wanted to be “cute” and of course, the cry babies come out.

still, they should’ve known there would’ve been backlash

Doesn’t really matter what they do, there will always be “backlash” for everything by people on the internet.

that’s why pizza hut makes the smart move and stays quiet

There is literally a ride at Hersheypark and it has singing cows talking about delicious chocolate and milk and stuff and nobody seems to complain about that. Where are all the crybabies now?

eh, not everyone gets hit by backlash
they dodged the bullet

i am probably a bad person for finding this funny.

Not going to deny the treatment of animals in mass farming is pretty damn awful, but a constant cycle of pregnancy is exactly what animals go through in the wild. I don’t imagine that traumatises them much.

Yes

"I don’t imagine that traumatises them much."
Just to be super clear, because I know there isn’t always a lot of information out there about the farming of cows for milk and that it took me a real long time to figure it all out:
A cow is born. She won’t reach sexual maturity until a few years later, but when she is just one year old, she has a metal rod and human arm inserted into her anus that deposits ejaculate from a bull into her uterus. This process is artificial insemination and it is similar to how artificial insemination occurs in humans. There are two big differences though: the human being impregnated knows what is going on and the human being impregnated has consented to this procedure. The cow has no idea why someone has an arm up her ass and she is constrained because she is freaking out.
After nine months of pregnancy, the cow gives birth, just like a human. The only difference is her baby is so large from human selective breeding she’ll often need someone there to help literally pull the calf out of her. She then wants to groom her newborn, to have her newborn nurse from her. Instead, within hours of birth, the calf is forcefully taken from her. She may be stunned. She’ll often cry out, sometimes for hours. Sometimes she cries so much and so loudly that neighbors hear her and call the police. The calf has been taken away because they would drink their mother’s milk and then there wouldn’t be as much for humans to sell and make money off of.
The calf, if male, will be placed in a tiny crate—called a veal crate—and be killed four months later. If the calf is female, she’ll be placed in a similar structure until she’s one and can be impregnated for the first time.
The baby cow who has just given birth to a baby cow and is mourning that separation is then hooked up to a machine and has her milk pumped out of her. After two months of this, she’ll be impregnated again, and will continue being milked for the duration of her pregnancy. And guess what happens when she gives birth? THE SAME FUCKING THING ALL OVER AGAIN.
When she’s about five, she’s considered “spent,” meaning her body is so exhausted from this that keeping her around isn’t profitable. She could live another 20 years, but they kill her the same way they kill every other cow and turn her into “cheap dairy beef.” 1 in 4 of these cows will be pregnant when they’re killed!
So, yeah, being upset about all this and about the depiction of cows as consenting, happy individuals who love to be exploited for the milk they’ve produced for their stolen newborn… it doesn’t make somebody a “crybaby.” It makes somebody a person with a conscience.

Taken the fuck DOWN. Thank you veganigans.

”A common method used to dispose of unwanted male chicks is grinding them up alive. This method can result in unspeakable horrors as a research scientist described, “Even after twenty seconds, there were only partly damaged animals with whole skulls”, fully conscious chicks were partially ground up. Eyewitness accounts at commercial hatcheries indicate similar horrors with chicks …being slowly dismembered on augers carrying them towards a trash bin or manure spreader.”

My biggest question for vegans is, how the hell do you live without cheese??

This is how we live without cheese.
Also, this.
And this.
And this.
And this.

Now tell me, how can you still eat cheese?

And why the are non-vegans so obsessed with cheese? It’s fucking coagulated and aged breast milk. Gross.

Well we eat cheese, just not the ones derived from another species udders. Also humans are not a calves, it’s not natural to be eating the food source of another animal..

Does anyone like creative writing? I’m thinking of writing a creative piece on Monday for an English assesment but our class has never been taught creative writing conventions, proper structure etc. We’ve only been taught how to write well structured essays.

The question, if I choose to write a creative piece is: ‘What is success? Produce a text which offers an answer to this question in a form of your choice.

Anyone have any tips?

99-Year-Old Lady Sews A Dress A Day For Children In Need

Lillian Weber, a 99-year-old good Samaritan from Iowa, has spent the last few years sewing a dress a day for the Little Dresses For Africa charity, a Christian organization that distributes dresses to children in need in Africa and elsewhere.

Weber’s goal is to make 1,000 dresses by the time she turns 100 on May 6th. So far, she’s made more than 840. Though she says she could make two a day, she only makes one – but each single dress she makes per day is personalized with careful stitchwork. She hopes that each little girl who receives her dress can take pride in her new garment.

TCS 30-Hour Vigil July 3rd

Over 50 persons showed up throughout the vigil and about 10 dedicated activists slept on the ground outside the slaughterhouses in solidarity with the cows who would violently have their lives taken from them over the course of the 30 hours. Leafleting was done at the nearby McDonalds, as well as on the street corner of the two slaughterhouses and many people were receptive to our message. Delicious vegan food was distributed to anyone who wanted, including the workers of the slaughterhouses and some of the drivers of the transport trucks.

The cows in the trucks were filthy and very scared with wide eyes. They would trip over each other in a panic. With some trucks, we only had seconds to tell them how much we loved them, and with others we had enough time to gently whisper to them, and to softly rub their noses with our fingers..Tragically, each one was horrifically slaughtered, and forced to watch their friends die before them. Many would still have been conscious as their throats were slit and even as they were skinned and dismembered.

No death can be peaceful when the person being killed does not want to die. They fight for their lives; they try and escape the trucks, they toss their heads away from the “stun” gun, and they kick as they are dragged by their hind legs down the kill line. The only way to know that you are not contributing to such incredible cruelty is to choose veganism

Climate change is pulling the sea ice out from under polar bears’ feet, forcing them to swim longer distances to find food and habitat. Long-distance swimming puts polar bears at risk of drowning due to fatigue or rough seas.

A report published by the World Watch Institute in 2009 revealed that greenhouse gases produced by livestock comprise 51 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Methane gas, the gas produced most fervently by livestock, traps 100 times more heat in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide within a 5 year period, and 72 times more within a 20 year period. The good news is that methane also leaves the atmosphere within a decade, whereas carbon dioxide takes several decades or even centuries. This means that a drastic shift away from raising livestock offers a very real hope that we can curb global warming.
